Wow, it's great to be back in Berlin. We do so love this city. Our bus trip here today was very long but we took our luggage right away off the bus, not waiting for it to be portaged, and set out right away for search of soup. We found our little restaurant on Kufurstadam , had soup and coffee and did a few groceries, and then returned for a jacket before heading back out for the evening. We walked straight down the main busy and lively street to find life. We surely found it in the city's 2- week celebration of the "Summer City Street Festival" and proceeded to celebrate.
( A side bar - What were we celebrating? The birth of our next daughter grandchild, first to David and Kelly, healthy and tired for both mom and child - also Dad probably. All three are doing well but still at hospital due to C-section. James and Rachael and Janet and Roger are helping them to cope and get on in our absence. We feel so like wanting to jump through the clouds to get to their sides to give them all our strength but it will have to get their through the love of of those around them.)
We met so many beautiful people tonight. We walked down the street for a bit and came across an area of people bound together by their love of life, music and laughter. Sounds like my kind of people.
We met a couple from Norway, who were holidaying in Berlin for a week. Did you know that it is only a 1 1/2 hour flight to Berlin for them? Lovely people - E and W. Grandparents - the best kind of people!
Next we met two women who were camping with their children. One family was from Austria and the other from Salzburg. Their two teenagers were just adorable and any parent would be so proud to have them as their children.
After that we met two young adults who were in from Holland just outside of Amsterdam. They were lively and lovely people that we just wanted to hug and bring home.
We are again reminded of how we are so blessed to be part of a world so full of wonderful and amazing people and that we are so appreciative of our life being filled up with this experience of laughter, wild encounters and beautiful moments. We wish that we were literally walking the streets with all those that we love. In its place, we hope that this helps.
