Oct. 4, second day in London

Got up and headed on the tube for parts known but forgotten of London. We ended up at Coventry Garden which is always one of our favourites and walked around for a bit. We ate at a pub, no surprise there but then as we were walking, we came across the Lyceum theatre and The Lion King was playing, so with 3 minutes till show time, we ran in for 30£ a piece.
It is an excellent show, truly a great piece of art and set mostly for children but there are many aspects of it that entertain adults. Lots of humor. All the animals are huge and are worked by people hidden within them. The 4 main characters however just have the animals face which the actors carry on top of their heads. The staging and direction was amazing. It has been playing here for 13 years and it still looks like 1st night.
We headed back to our hotel - which is way west at Hammersmith, a 1/2 hour tube ride- yuck, but we always manage to arrive in one piece.
We stopped in at the Covent garden info booth and got tickets for tomorrow for The War Horse, yahoo!
